Ling Heather honey from Exmoor National Park, Devon, made by the Wallace family, who began beekeeping in 1949. Based in south of Exmoor, their honey production is overseen by their head beekeeper who has a Masters of Excellence in Beekeeping.
Benefits: Heather honey is highly prized for its health and healing benefits as it’s rich in antioxidants and anti-bacterial properties. It’s traditionally used to treat digestive disorders and kidney infections.
Tasting Notes & Tips: This honey has a highly perfumed aroma, strong heather notes, with a hint of caramel or Amaretto. A deep amber colour, it’s ‘medium bodied’ and sweet. We think it’s fab with cheese (anything with ‘bite’), game, toasted teacakes, porridge, and added to cakes or pastry recipes.
Raw honey is not suitable during pregnancy or for children under 12 months old.
